Bibingka and “Puto Bungbong”

For our Food Trip To Go, we bought Filipino rice cakes “Bibingka” (which is made with coconut milk, eggyolks and salted egg); and “Puto Bungbong” (made with sticky rice and steamed inside a bamboo).

These two delicacies are popular in the Philippines during Christmas season because people usually eat it after the mass during a cold Sunday morning or evening.

Basti and Ethan loved the “bibingka” so much and called it pancake with salted egg. They tried eating it with butter and grated coconut. Both of them  finished the entire serving!!!

They also liked bamboo shaped “puto bungbong” especially when eaten with  butter, sugar and grated coconut.
