Bulan Kitchen & Cafe Review: A Milky Way Café in Tomas Morato

Paolo and Chloe at Bulan Kitchen & Cafe with its moon wall and waffle-cone coffee cups

Some cafés are made for coffee. Bulan Kitchen & Cafe in Tomas Morato is made for the camera first. We stopped by for lunch and Chloe declared it her new favorite “moon place” before we even sat down.

The vibe

Bulan means “moon,” and the whole place leans into it: soft white walls, round arches, sunflowers by the window and a huge glowing full moon on the wall. It feels like eating lunch in a little Milky Way.

The coffee

The drinks are the other photo magnet. They come in waffle-cone cups tucked into paper sleeves marked “Coffee or milk.” Chloe was more excited about eating the cup than the drink.

The service

This was the one letdown. Our order took around 30 minutes to arrive, and we weren’t happy about that. If you’re hungry, order as soon as you sit down, and come with patience.

Our rating

★★★★☆ (4/5)

It’s a beautiful Milky Way-themed café, fun for kids and made for photos, and we’d still recommend it. We took off a star for the 30-minute wait.
